CELPIP GENERAL LS

The CELPIP-General LS Test provides Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and other users with an accurate measurement of English language listening and speaking proficiency in common usage situations.

The test consists of the following components:

  • Listening (47-55 minutes)
  • Speaking (15-20 minutes)

Total test time: About 1 hour 10 minutes

The format and scoring of the test are referenced to the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB).

What groups can use the CELPIP-General LS Test Results?

  • IRCC requiring proof of English language listening and speaking proficiency of applicants for Canadian citizenship
  • employers requiring proof of English language listening and speaking proficiency of their prospective employees
